To our hostess at breakfast, I was distinguished as the only one wearing sandals at Lake Tahoe in April. White chino shorts, short sleeve shirts, and a short A-line dress completed my wardrobe that I brought with me in an attempt for an early summer vacation.
But if you’re like me, and you live near the Wasatch mountain range in Utah, you might be as desperate to escape snowy winters. Just be aware that April is the time one might encounter an actual bear. We experienced a close encounter with one on the shore of the lake. I didn’t hesitate to alert the other vacationers around me as I roughly pulled the stroller holding my baby over the sand; everyone gathered in the gated pool.
A safer encounter was with one of the many sculptured bears next to a gelato shop. I could enjoy a typical summer moment of eating chocolate hazelnut gelato.
